The Most Unique Website Design!

canudo1

This website was submitted to WDI through the Submit Site button. I receive a lot of websites submitted through there that are good looking but rarely do I get something inspiring and something that really makes me say, “Wow, this one is cool”.

ThiagoCanudi.com.br is the most unique website design that I’ve seen in a while and it did exactly that, I actually said, “Wow, this one’s cool”, I was very excited to see it. This website is designed to look like a flattened out packaging box. To navigate to the next page you click a link and it will scroll the page right anfd left until it gets to the requested page. I have seen websites that scroll right and left for navigation but this one is different, there is actually a real purpose for scrolling. I love the bright colors used and the graphical elements like the boxy lettering and the logo. The way the website is structured is very unique and it shows the designer’s level of skill and talent.

Here is the whole website, there is only 4 pages but they are done very well. I’m posting this one in the Best websites of 2009! Go take a look and scroll through it to appreciate.

Color, Font & Photograph Makes It Beautiful and Elegant

mountaincityclub

If you examine this website you will find that really there are 3 major elements that make this website look so elegant and beautiful, they are color, font and photograph. The deep dark shades of red create a sort of romantic atmosphere and the font used here give it an elegant and sophisticated feel. The crisp photographs in the slide show show the areas in the club which is also staged in a sophisticated style which supports the entire look and feel of the website.

Notice the navigation hover buttons, as you hover the mouse over the navigation links, beautiful buttons appear behind the text. I like it that it’s not just a plain or a rounded corners rectangle but a nice classic shape that matches the rest of the site.deep

Amazingly Beautiful & Super Efficient Website Design

mightyleaf

MightyLeaf.com is going to be filed into the Best Of 2009 category. I can’t stop starring at it… The design of the site as a whole, then the details – photography work is just stunning, the navigation is very clean and efficient, the logo fits perfectly. This website is truly is a piece of art.

Check out the navigation, it sits there quietly, out of the way while you are not using it, then when you need to find something just hover over the main categories buttons at the top and a smorgasbord of choices come popping out, so much to choose from!

Also the sub-navigation buttons placed nicely under the main navigation is another level of choices to pick from. In all, they have eliminated many extra clicks for a visitor, turning many of then from just visitors to customers.

Beautiful Nautical Design

egonautica

Blue is considered to be a color of rest, calm, relaxation, the thought that comes to mind when I think of blue is sea, beautiful beach with clear blue ocean water and beautiful blue sky… Man, I really need a vacation…

Anyway, EgoNautica, this site’s design is great. I love how they worked the photo of a yacht, resting in the clear blue water with blue sky in the background, into this website. All the rest of the elements are designed around that concept, light blue gradients, transparent effects. Take a look at the navigation buttons, and the custom form block above.

Most Visited Site in 2008?

gas.gif

GasBuddy.com may be one of the most visited sites for 2008. The site itself isn’t a visual masterpiece. It also isn’t full of stuff that elicits ‘oohs and ahhhs’ from its visitors. It is simply a tool. A well liked tool these days! It’s easy to navigate and straightforward with the information you need. It doesn’t get much better than GasBuddy.com when it comes to delivering just what you requested. They definitely follow the K.I.S.S. approach (Keep It Simple Stupid).

So, GasBuddy.com gets “two big thumbs up” from me for simplicity of use and its straightforward reason for existence.
