Thanks Valiik, I got it, some things are slightly different in PS 6.0, but I eventually worked them out. Thanks for the great tutorial.

I am talking about the foreground color. Change it to white in your tool bar on the left. Then you will use the gradient tool to fill the selection with the white-to-transparent gradient.

I am trying this in PS 6.0 and have gotten to… “With the upper half selected change the main color to White by clicking on the color box”, but I am lost and cant find where to change the colour?? Can anyone assist?
